Better Together. Humble Connections.

Our DNA as Methodists is connectional. We are a movement to build one church, to continue Jesus ministry until Christ returns in final victory. So we live this out by caring for Jesus starting place (the Church) both locally, globally and most of all faithfully. At times we miss the mark. Yet missing the mark in the past does not mean we no longer strive to be better. So we strive to be better stewards of our great commission by being humbly connected as one church.
Great things are hard! Being a part of a connection with standards and alignment founded on the tenets of the Christian faith is hard. But connection provides better stewardship & ministry to the world. Better than any one group could ever accomplish going it alone.
Being a part of a connectional church creates an opportunity to encourage followers of Jesus Christ around the world. Not competing but connecting is Jesus’ way.

Paul reminds one local church at Philippi: “Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose” (Phil 2.1-2).

So. Now is the time for us as a church to pray and work together in our new connection empowered by the Holy Spirit. Now is the time for people and local churches to give resources to fund and keep building local congregations in connection. Now more than ever we need a church that watches over one another in love, that extends grace, serves others, proclaims the truth, and holds one another accountable to its great commission – until Christ returns in final victory. Let’s celebrate Jesus great commission this Sunday Sept 13!
